Hampton Inn & Suites Denton

Worst night’s sleep I’ve ever had in a hotel. The bed was awfully uncomfortable…very hard. There was no sound proofing between our room and the room upstairs. It sounded like a heard of elephants that were about to fall through the ceiling at any moment. And they were up late into the night and first thing in the morning. One guest’s sleep shouldn’t depend on the other guests. The room has no decor, so it felt sterile. There wasn’t a single picture on the wall. And finally, we were a party of three but there were only two towels. When we asked for more, they said they were out of towels. Really? I gave two stars only because the room was clean.

The room I was in smelled of rank body odor. Since it was the last one in the size I wanted I stayed thinking by plugging a Gain wall air freshener in would mask it. After two days it was tolerable. I reported it & nothing was offered or done to correct it. Toilets are at a height for toddlers My reservation was changed by hotel & instead of 3 nights I only got 2, then at work I received a rude call threatening to have my property removed. When I called to pay for the missing day I was put on hold. This management staff does not understand American culture. Speaking the language is not the same as understanding it. Stay at your own risk.

If you stay at this Hampton Inn, do not accept a room on the first floor. My wife and I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Denton Texas last Thursday through Monday (September 28 - October 2nd). Our first night there, I was woken up repeatedly with bugs crawling on me. It was dark when I brushed off what appeared to be a large spider (three times). When I turned the lights on, whatever it was was no longer in sight. The last time it happened (around 6am), I pulled the mattress back from the wall and saw roaches. I killed one and put it in a zip lock bag to show management. At that point, I pulled the sheets back and found bed bugs. I was able to kill three of them and also bag them for management to see. I immediately went to the front desk, and they did move us from the first floor to the third floor. When we began packing up our belongings to get out of that room, I picked up my bag in the corner of the room, and at least a half dozen bugs of some sort scurried into the cracks. We didn't have any further issues once we moved to the room upstairs. When we spoke with the manager later that morning, she apologized and said she would "take care of us." We were certainly left with the impression that we would receive some sort of financial compensation - at least for that first disgusting night. We didn't receive any consideration at all. I think that's the least Hampton Inn could've done, especially since we now have the chance of bringing bed bugs into our own home and incurring thousands of dollars of expense should we need to replace mattresses and box springs in our own home. Luckily, however, that does not yet appear to be the case. UPDATE: It is now December. We never received a refund that Hampton Inn/Hilton had REPEATEDLY told us was coming. So, after 20+ years as a loyal Hampton Inn customer, we are done. We will never stay at another Hampton Inn property again.

Came into this hotel with three large bags and had to carry them up three flights of stairs, because the elevator was broken down. The elevator apparently was broke down last week too. The air conditioner also broke and the floor was super wet. An old couple left tonight as we came, because the employees wouldn’t help them up the stairs. Not to mention they did not tell us that the elevator was broken until after the purchase of the room for the night was complete. Don’t come here, unless if you want horrible customer service.
